About Me
Hi, my name is Gianna Roux, and I'm a senior at Grosse Pointe North High School. I've been a part of North Pointe, the school paper, for two years, and this year I am a page editor for the Life and ASF pages. I had joined to get another honors class on my transcript, but I ended up falling in love with writing, and the program itself. North Pointe has brought me some of my closest friends, and has immensely helped expand my communication skills. Being an editor is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, and although the six hour production nights are exhausting, they are one hundred percent worth it. Through editing I have learned how to tap into my creativity, and work with the people around me to elevate our paper.
Outside of journalism, I am a member of an in school and extracurricular choir, I have performed in two of my school's musicals, I've been on the girl's varsity tennis team for four years, and I'm a captain this year, I work as a server at a local bakery, as well as participating in NHS and Model UN. I love everything about nature, and plan to study environmental science at Iona University. When I’m not preoccupied with extracurriculars, you can find me hanging out with my friends, whether that be at concerts, at the library, or just watching movies together.
Everything I've done for school has shaped me into the person I am today. I am incredibly grateful for all of the opportunities that journalism, choir, and sports have brought me to meet new people and excel as a student, and I can't wait to graduate and put those skills to use.
